Farley Blasts Gillibrand for Skipping Votes to Campaign for 2020 Presidential Nomination

For Immediate Release: July 20, 2018

New York, New York - U.S. Senate candidate Chele Farley, (R, C, Reform) today blasted Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for skipping votes to campaign for President in 2020.
“It’s one thing to not pass a single bill in almost 12 years, now Gillibrand can’t even be bothered to show up to vote - it’s a total disgrace,” said Farley.
Last weekend, Gillibrand attended multiple fundraisers and political events in support of liberal Democratic candidates in Wisconsin and Chicago. On Sunday in Wisconsin, Gillibrand attended a BBQ fundraiser with Senator Tammy Baldwin and then travelled to Chicago for an event for Lauren Underwood (IL-14). Monday morning, Gillibrand headlined a breakfast fundraiser for Congresswoman Cheri Bustos and then attended the 2nd annual "Women’s Rights and Resistance Brunch" for JB Pritzker and the rest of Democratic statewide ticket
Gillibrand was so busy campaigning she didn’t bother to vote on the
nomination of Scott Stump, of Colorado, to be Assistant Secretary for Career,
Technical, and Adult Education, Department of Education.
At a time companies throughout New York and America are struggling with a shortage of skilled workers that has left more than six million jobs unfilled nationwide, it is clear that the only job Kirsten Gillibrand is interested in is her next job.
Gillibrand’s decision to skip three Senate votes, two were voice votes, one was a roll call, is in stark contrast to her colleagues Senators Baldwin, Durbin and Duckworth who were all able to show up to cast their vote.
“Kirsten Gillibrand doesn’t live in New York - she lives full-time in Washington, DC. She spends her time and money traveling around the country supporting candidates outside of New York, to help her run for President,” said Farley.
Farley concluded, “New Yorkers deserve a Senator who actually wants to be Senator and will put our citizens first.”
