Farley Pushes Gillibrand to Denounce Teachout’s Plans to Prosecute ICE

“Zephyr Teachout has gone too far and I’m calling on Gillibrand to reject her outrageous remarks”

New York, New York - U.S. Senate candidate Chele Farley (R, C, Reform) today called on Kirsten Gillibrand to denounce Attorney General candidate Zephyr Teachout’s plans to prosecute ICE.

In a slick promotional video released yesterday, Teachout pledged, “As attorney general, I will continue to speak out against ICE. I will prosecute ICE for their criminal acts.”

Teachout is locked in a tight four-way primary for Attorney General and her call to prosecute ICE is just the latest high-risk proposal from the radical left.

“Teachout’s rhetoric is offensive and sends a dangerous message to MS-13 and other bad actors that we don’t stand behind our laws or the men and women we entrust to enforce them,” said Farley.

Kirsten Gillibrand was the first Senator to call for the abolishment of ICE and has since been joined by Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Others on the radical left such as Bill de Blasio, Cynthia Nixon and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have also called for the abolishment of ICE.

“As America’s ‘ICE Queen,' Kirsten Gillibrand is the leader of a dangerous faction which is putting the safety of New Yorkers at risk. Zephyr Teachout has gone too far and I’m calling on Gillibrand to reject her outrageous remarks,” said Farley.

Teachout’s pledge for the prosecution and elimination of ICE comes 17 years after 3,000 Americans were murdered on 9/11 by a plot involving 19 terrorists many of whom were here illegally due to visa violations. ICE was formed in the wake of those attacks to protect America from another attack.

Concluded Farley, “It’s ironic that Senator Gillibrand regularly touts among her accomplishments the passage of the Zadroga Act to help victims of 9/11, yet she is willing to subject New Yorkers to the same kinds of risks that led to the attacks in the first place.”
