Farley Statement on President Trump’s Visit to New York to Sign the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act

For Immediate Release: August 13, 2018

“Today New Yorkers welcome President Trump back to upstate New York to sign the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act. This legislation provides our troops with the largest pay increase they have seen in nine years and allocates critical capital infrastructure for military installations throughout our state.

"I am honored to join President Trump in Utica. As I have always said, when the President’s policies are right for New York I will support him, and these policies are absolutely right for our state. Unfortunately, my opponent Kirsten Gillibrand wants to have it both ways. She was one of only 10 Senators to vote against our troops and against the National Defense Authorization Act and yet now she is sending out misleading press releases claiming credit. It’s a disgrace.

"As President Trump signs this legislation today, we await an explanation from Kirsten Gillibrand on why she voted against a pay raise for our troops.”
