Farley to Gillibrand: Do You Believe America 'Was Never That Great'?

For Immediate Release: August 16, 2018

“Calling America ‘never that great’ is a stunning insult to all the men and women who have bravely put on a uniform to defend our nation. Andrew Cuomo owes them an apology and my opponent, Kirsten Gillibrand, who has endorsed this governor, should demand one.

"What is more stunning than Cuomo’s remark is the complete and utter silence from New York’s top Democrats. Sadly, today it’s not politically correct for those on the left to love our country. The Obama apology tour has become part of the culture of national Democrats who no longer stand up for our greatness but constantly seek to diminish it. Too many on the political left are embarrassed to be Americans, they are embarrassed by the freedoms and liberty that have made this country the greatest the world has ever known.

"If Kirsten Gillibrand doesn’t believe America is the greatest country in the world, New Yorkers deserve to hear it. It matters. Perhaps it explains why she voted against a pay increase for our troops?

"So I ask the question: Kirsten Gillibrand, do you believe America 'was never that great'?”
