FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 26, 2018
Since 2007 Gillibrand has introduced 302 bills and passed zero
U.S. Senate candidate Chele Farley, (R,C, Reform) continued to call on Senator Kirsten Gillibrand to account for her complete and utter failure to deliver legislative victories for New Yorkers. In her over 11 years representing New Yorkers, Kirsten Gillibrand has introduced 302 bills and not passed a single one into law.
“Kirsten Gillibrand needs to explain to New Yorkers how she can go 11 years without passing into law one single piece of legislation that she has introduced. Is it because she is more focused on 2020, or is she just incompetent?” said Farley.
Gillibrand’s first bill, the American Dairy Farmer Protection Act, was introduced on March 20, 2007, and the last bill, S.3034, a bill to amend the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act, was introduced on June 7, 2018. In between, Gillibrand has sponsored 300 other bills that have gone nowhere.
“Three-hundred and two bills introduced and not one has been passed into law, New Yorkers simply can’t afford to re-elect Kirsten Gillibrand, instead they should let her stay home in Washington,” said Farley.
Farley has pledged to work to bring back the $48 billion New York sends to Washington every year as a donor state and reinvest those dollars into infrastructure, opioid intervention and property tax relief. Her only focus as New York’s senator will be to put New York first.
Concluded Farley, “New Yorkers have borne the brunt of Gillibrand’s 11 years of self promotion and absentee neglect with less jobs, higher taxes and crumbling infrastructure. As Senator, I will always put New York and New Yorkers first.”
